Much of J's performance was based in new trends for Sympathy work, but also included some of his tried and true demonstrations. The setting was on a stage in a cozy auditorium. (While the lighting was great for the performance it was a bit challenging for photos - they may appear grainy.)

J started with an introductory bouquet - the "Clown Bouquet" as it's called in the U.K. So named for its irrevernt use of single stems of many flower types and colors. At right J demonstrates the hand-tied technique.

The completed bouquet (left) - do you know its secret? - and festive piece with Oranges and Grapefruits (right).

This Caterpillar was created with the small color foam discs - charming.

J discusses the Memory Garden arrangement.

Ta Da!

Aha - there are the Blue Glitter Roses - accented further with Acolytes. J greets the classy and peerless Marcella Stein, of Oasis, who came to enjoy the performance.

After his program, but before leaving, J has a chance to say goodbye to Paula Pryke, from the U.K., another of the featured presenters. A lovely and talented friend.

What was the best thing about Bouquets to Art 2005? The wonderful ladies of the San Francisco Auxilliary of the Fine Arts Museum. They took great interest as well as great care of J and Kel during the visit. Many thanks go to them for creating such a wonderful event at which to present! The event is more than the sum of its parts and the hard work involved shows in their attention to every detail.
